Why all kids must learn to swim
- Approximately 10 people drown every day in the U.S. (Source: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)).
- More than one in five fatal drowning victims are children younger than 14 (Source: CDC).
- Drowning is also a silent killer—most young children who drowned in pools were last seen in the home, had been out of sight less than five minutes, and were in the care of one or both parents at the time (Source: Present P. Child Drowning study).
- Participation in formal swimming lessons can reduce the risk of drowning by 88 percent among children aged one to four years. (Source: Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine 2009)
Pool drowning deaths on the rise
NBC’s Tom Costello takes a look at alarming data showing a rising number of children dying as the result of drowning in backyard pools.
Once you watch the video, you will have no doubt that enrolling your children in swimming is cruitial and cannot be put off until another day.
Valley Isle Aquatics is now accepting financing for sessions over $99.00 via PayPal. See details below:
The Community Courses' Office requires you complete their evaluation form before the end of the every session you participate.
Please be sure to submit your program evaluation before the end of the session.
Through this office we are able to offer a couple of classes UpCountry at the Pukalani Pool and Kokua Pool. *Please see the schedule below.
