Internships:
We are considering working with local high schools to offer internships to students, to help prepare them for the job force after graduation. If you would like to assist with this program, please let us know. |

Please get involved in our community. There is a rumor that the mayor is going to turn over all the pools to a private vendor beginning August 2012. He is soliciting mainland companies. There could be a lot negative consequences to this new plan. Again, it is only rumor, but you never know.

VIA holds the only permit and county contract to teach swimming lessons in Kihei, Central, and UpCountry. This contract requires us to carry a liability insurance policy, advanced certifications, and follow all rules and regulations. If you are contacted by other instructors, be very cautious as they are not authorized to teach swimming lessons at any county facility. A previous employee is doing this for cash under the table. Do know that this person is not authorized by the County and is doing this illegally.
