~American Red Cross Courses
These courses are available for any age and can be tailored to the needs of specific groups and individuals. Whether you work with children, want training for employees, are a professional rescuer, or simply want to know how to help someone in an emergency, the American Red Cross has a program for you.
Successful course completion performance requires participation in classroom and skill sessions, as well as successful performance in skill and knowledge evaluation, which means you must score no lower than an 80% on each of the written examinations, participate fully in all sessions, and pass all skills.
Due to the nature of the skills in these courses, you will be participating in strenuous activities, such as performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the floor and moving a person from location to another. If you have a medical condition or disability, or if you have any questions about your ability to participate fully in these courses, discuss this with your physician and the appropriate person at the local Red Cross Chapter before you start these courses.
Upon successful completion of these American Red Cross Courses, you will receive an American Red Cross First Aid certificate, which is valid for 3 years. You will also receive a CPR for the Professional Rescuer certificate that is valid for 1 year. AED/02 certifications are valid for 1 year from completion date.
